Exam Sign-up Procedure
To sign up for a practical exam, do the following steps:
- Register with the NH EMS Field Office by calling the office at 603-223-4200 (Lucie Roy). She will verify that you are eligible for practical exam testing.

Register with the NH EMS Region 1 Council Exam Committee. To do this,
- Download the exam sign-up application form.
- Mail the completed form with a money order or bank check for the exam fee to: Region 1 EMS, P.O. Box 195, Georges Mills, NH 03751-0195. The check or money order should be made payable to: EMS Region 1.
Please note the following important things:
- The exam fee must accompany the application and must be postmarked 10 working days prior to the exam for the candidate to be eligible to test. Payment must be made by bank check or money order - NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.
- NO REFUNDS will be given for cancellation unless the Region 1 Council Exam Committee is notified at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled exam date. Email the exam committee at: registrations@nhregion1ems.org; or call: 603-448-7633. The exam fee is not tax deductible.

The practical exam fee schedule is as follows:
- First Responder Exam: $60.00
- EMT Exam: $70.00
- First Responder retest: $15 per station (Up to 2 stations)
- EMT retest: $15 per station (Up to 2 stations)
- Same day retests of up two stations will be allowed with no additional fee

Late registration fees. Exam registration is closed 10 WORKING days prior, to the exam
date. This refers to your registration with the NH EMS Field Office. Your Registration form
- with payment, must be postmarked by that date in order to be assured payment is received
by the Monday prior to the exam date. Payments not postmarked by the exam close date will
be subject to a late fee of $25.00. Unfortunately, no exceptions will be made.
Basic Exam: Fee if postmarked by the closing date: $70.00, Fee if postmarked after the closing date: $95.00
First Responder: Fee if postmarked by the closing date: $60.00, Fee if postmarked after the closing date: $85.00
Retests: Fee if postmarked by the closing date: $15.00, Fee if postmarked after the closing date: $30.00
- All participants testing at a practical exam are now required to present a photo ID when registering at the exam site on the day of the exam. If you don't have a photo ID, two forms of non-photo ID will be acceptable.
